I'll try and post pictures in the next few days, but for now, here's a list of where I've been and stayed in India so far:-
new Delhi and old Delhi
New Jalpur juri
Thekkidy-Periyar tiger reserve
So several states =)
My fave places have been the hectic cities of Delhi and Mumbai, the modern shopping of Chennai, the rolling himalayas and mixed British-Indian culture of beautiful Darjeeling in west Bengal, Jaipur and its amazing forts, the blue city of Jodpur, the beautiful backwaters and rainforests of Kerala and the impressive temples of Tamil Nadu.
I have grown to appreciate Radjani's for their lovely flavoursome thalis, banana leaf and mcdonalds (yes, not a typo) for their cheap but 'healthy' food (really!) and barristas and coffee days for their cleansliness and good coffee. Being a veg India is awesome. I love dahi vadas, sweet or mango lassies and paneer tikka. Kulfi and halwa are awesome.
I love the monkeys, or earth bound Hanuman's.
I also love being blessed in hindu temples. & racing through crazy streets in a rickshaw and getting frustrated as you get lost because the guy didn't really know where the heck he was going.
I love the warmth and high humidity-the way you always feel so healthy.
I love the lack of order and the random things and adventures than can occur out of nowhere.
People are so friendly there. I love the way it's not so rude or unusual to stare and be stared back at. Curiosity is welcomed and friends made fast.
I like the healthy and happy attitude. Hell, I love India.
I'd love to go to Kolcutta, kasmir, hyderabadi, bangalore and the adaman islands.
I'd also like to actually see a tiger and not just a pugmark. Quit poaching these beautiful big cats!
