The Dawn Sky in Munsiyari

Dawn in Munsiyari

What you see above is the sky at 5:15 am in the first week of June in Munsiyari located in the north eastern part of the Indian Himalayan state of Uttarakhand. I had woken up early in the hope of catching the early rays of the sun lighting up the peaks with a golden hue, but the clouds had other plans. But what I got was something few manage - the golden peaks are still more commonplace. Its another matter that I have a client who wanted to buy an image of golden lit peaks but I did not have any to show him.

View of Tsemo Monastery in Leh

I took this shot of the Tsemo Monastery in standing at the Shanti Stupa across a valley in Leh, the capital of Ladakh in the Indian Himalayan region. This monastery is located on a hill above the Leh palace, where the royal family once used to stay. I was lucky to have captured this shot with so many colours and shadows, and elements like the golden light of the day and the shades of blue of the skies above.
